I am curating the exhibition The Web Is a Lonely Place, Come Play  which will be on view at the Center for Photography at Woodstock from January 12 - March 31, 2013. The exhibition brings together work by five artists - Christopher Baker, Petra Cortright, Jon Rafman, Rafaël Rozendaal &  Kate Steciw - who deal with the radically democratized "free space" of the web. Through video, performance, photo-based imagery, interactive installation, appropriation, and animations, each artist explores the web as both seductive visual playground and subversive artistic studio.

Press release here.

I am co-curating the exhibition Surface Tension with Ariel Shanberg at the Center for Photography at Woodstock, on view from May 5 - June 24, 2012. The exhibition features work by Marisa Baumgartner, Matthew Brandt, Christopher Colville, Megan Flaherty, Joseph Heidecker, Mark Lyon, Aspen Mays, Klea McKenna, Alison Rossiter, Paul Mpagi Sepuya, and Brea Souders.

Surface Tension highlights imagery that defies the illusionary connotations of photography, choosing rather to instigate tension whether physical or psychological upon the surface of the photograph. The artists featured subvert conventional expectations of the medium via gestures of abstraction, deconstruction, and manipulation of the image by the artists’ hand.
